Open Source Document Management

Perhaps not everyone knows that LogicalDOC comes with an open source edition. Its name is LogicalDOC Community Edition and is a software package that makes a document management system completely free with access to the source code as well.

The open source project was initiated by the company several years ago, in order to raise awareness about LogicalDOC and allow users to interact with the source code, taking familiarity with the system, eventually by developing additional modules or new features. It is just another way to give back to the open source community part of what we received, since the architecture of LogicalDOC system makes extensive use of third-party libraries often released in turn in open source format. At the same time, having a community version, provides to LogicalDOC a broad users base, a high reliability of the code as well as good benchmarks in many environments and with the most different conditions. All this, helps us to improve the stability of the software and its performance in order to offer on commercial versions a solution of proven effectiveness.

The community edition however has some differences, in terms of functionality, when compared with commercial versions, which you can discover in the features comparison matrix. The open source project is hosted on SourceForge; for more information go to the relevant page to download LogicalDOC Community Edition.
