Each user that is granted to view a folder can register himself to be notified by e-mail or RSS when events involve the selected folder or even single documents.

Moreover, this workflow system comprises the escalation management so that you can specify an estimated duration for each task and a warning interval, so that all assignees are regularly warned if the task was not completed into the estimated time.
